Youtube Entries EXTENDED…now due on the 26th of August.
Colourfest announces our first-ever pitching competition. We invite filmmakers from across Australia to submit migrant and diaspora stories. The winning pitch will receive $2000 in cash from the Australian Television and Radio School (AFTRS) and support from Colourfest to produce the film.
So what do you have to do?
Create a 2-3 minute pitch, upload it on youtube and send us an email link. Be as creative as you want but make sure your story is clear. Along with the video link send us a synopsis for the film and who and what is involved in making it (200 words MAX). PLEASE NOTE YOU CAN KEEP YOUR VIDEO PRIVATE AND LET US KNOW SO WE WON”T SHARE.
The rules and recommendations
You must be an Australian resident (temporary or permanent)
The film must be made in Australia
The film must a short film no longer than 20 minutes
The film must involve creatives from diverse communities.
Note: Colourfest prioritises films that involve processes of authentic storytelling, i.e. where the writer, director or producer is a member of the community of which the story is about.
Youtube Entries are due on the 22nd of August (EXTENDED TO 26TH AUGUST)
On the 29th of August we announce the winners of the first round.
Four pitches will be selected by us and one by the public for the second (and final) round.
If you’re selected for the second round, you will live pitch your film at Colourfest in Sydney on the 21st of September (Bankstown Arts Centre). You’ll be pitching to a panel of four, including AFTRS staff and an acclaimed filmmaker. If you are not able to make it to our live pitching session then you can live Skype your pitch to us.
Remember in the first round one pitch is chosen by the public, so once you make it, share it with your family, friends and fans. They have to simply like the youtube video and the video with the highest number of likes gets into the second round.
